Expect that High School Musical reality series in August.  The talent contest, similar (meaning ripoff) to American Idol, will be filmed at Murray High School in Utah, where the film is being shot.  Contestants will be booted from the ABC twice-a-week show until a winner is chosen.  That lucky teen will be awarded a recording contract and a chance to sing during the closing credits of the film "High School Musical 3" opening in October. 

That's right our favorite cast of teen stars have officially started shooting HSM3. The third and potentially final installment follows the returning cast through their senior year of high school and I'm sure love, music, and toe tapping mayhem will ensue.

But I guess we'll see when the film drops October 24, 2008

High School Musical 3 mania has begun, and here is the first trailer! HSM3 will dance down theater aisles everywhere in Fall 2008.

ABC is currently developing a High School Musical themed reality show competition. A talent hunt will take place, then the chosen contestants will study at a music conservatory to hone their skills, reports Variety.

Contestants will be eliminated each week. The reality series will include plenty of High School Musical moments, with appearances by the franchise's stars likely!

High School Musical stud Corbin Bleu spilled some High School Musical news to Teen Hollywood after he and the cast of HSM2 walked the red carpet for the release of HSM 2 on DVD December 11th.

What summer jobs did you have growing up?

"I can’t actually say I’ve had a summer job because I started acting when I was two and this has always been my thing. I’ve never experienced working at a mall or anything but I wish I could have. Maybe one of these days I’ll just go back and do it."

What do fans most like about your character?

A naked photo High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens, 18, took for her boyfriend and co-star Zac Efron, 19, has surfaced. In a statement to TMZ, Hudgens' rep says, 'This was a photo which was taken privately. It is a personal matter and it is unfortunate that this has become public.'
